Here be dragons!
I’ve learned a lot over the past month. Most importantly: do not try to write or publish a novel while moving. WIP notes get lost in bags, sleep becomes the greatest priority, and unpacked boxes do not make the most productive work environments.
In a scary, but wise decision, I scrapped 50k words of Book 3 a few weeks ago. Proof that it’s never too late to start over. As I’ve written in the past, I’m happy with closing my eyes, setting fingers to keyboard and seeing what happens … but when more than 50% of what I’ve written feels like filler, it’s time to re-evaluate. So next month I’ll be starting fresh and hopefully tap into my Muses.
But I am now settled in my new home and flying forward with the novel that is Eventide.
